Johns Hopkins's Will

Johns Hopkins's final will can be found in the Hopkins family special collection at the library at Johns Hopkins University. The will went into effect after Johns's death on December 24, 1873. At the time, his net worth was about $8 million. Johns bequeathed $3.5 million to found a hospital and $3.5 million to found the University. The remainder of his money was divided among relatives.
