About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Friends of Historic Johns Hopkins House Inc. is to purchase, restore, preserve and protect this historic house and surrounding property.  We are dedicated to creating programming to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Johns Hopkins House, the Hopkins Family and surrounding communities.

Our Story

We share in the love of the history pertaining to this house and property in one way or the other.  Some of us love the names attached to the property while others are interested in the historic architecture of the house and buildings.  Either way, there is an appreciation for what we consider one of the most prestigious historic sites in our county.

We have always known about the house and even volunteered as board members for the previous nonprofit.  That was a learning experience for us, to say the least.

Our goal is to restore the house, outbuildings and the gardens.  Which will enable us to share this historical gem with the public by way of educational programming, entertainment, and tours of the house and property.
