Welcome to our website! We are a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit set up to support the purchase and restoration of Whites Hall, the birthplace and boyhood home of Johns Hopkins, located in Gambrills, Maryland. Once again this budget year, we will advocate for Anne Arundel County to purchase the property. Use the PETITION button at the top of any page to add your name to our petition asking for this purchase. We will engage in a mailing/emailing campaign to let the County Executive know that the community is passionate about saving this very historic site. We will also continue to raise funds to purchase and restore the house and property. Check out the "How to Help" tab at the top of the page for further information.

There is no question in my mind that the Johns Hopkins birthplace site is one of the most significant, historically important unprotected sites not only in Anne Arundel County but in the State of Maryland. The impact he had in helping create one of the world’s premier medical and academic institutions is remarkable. Additionally the example his family set in the 18th century in dealing with the institution of slavery and their support of the Union cause in the 19th century is also significant. The opportunity to preserve this site for future generations to learn about our American history is something that we must accomplish. We will never have another opportunity quite like this in the Crofton community. We simply must preserve this special.
